  1. There’s the gag about a man who got a Christmas card from his doctor, but he couldn’t make out what the message was. Then he remembered who was the only person in town who could read the doctor’s hadnwriting, namely the pharmacist. So he took the card round to that establishment. The pharmacist read the card, then took a bottle down from the shelf and said “That’ll be $4.75 please”. (It’s an old joke...)

  2. The lesson for the US is: put together a democratic election for your own leaders. What’s funny is, the NZ proportional-representation electoral system is copied from the German one. This is the one put in place by the Allies after WWII to ensure that a dictator could never get power there again. Even though the US had a hand in creating it, it looks nothing like the US system. Maybe what’s good for the goose is good for the gander? Maybe the US should try out the system it helped to implement?

  4. 1:33 When we in NZ were under Level-4 lockdown, we had to socially-distance in the supermarkets. They carefully controlled entry and exit, and had markers on the floor to space out the checkout queues. There was never a requirement to wear masks here, though some people did.
