  1. The law is not what makes things right or wrong; it is our sense of right and wrong that is supposed to guide the formulation of laws. If a law is clearly no longer relevant for our times, and is in fact becoming downright harmful to society, then get rid of it. Simple as that.

  3. Even the tobacco industry was unable to withstand the tide of science proving them wrong. The gun industry has been much savvier: they were able to block the CDC from investigating the consequences of gun violence, and thereby were able to (partially) stem the tide of scientific evidence from the US. Other countries, however, continue to provide plenty of proof that the gun nuts are talking out their anuses. For example Australia, which brought mass shootings virtually to a halt after legislation passed in 1996.

  5. NY AG Letitia James has got a lawsuit going to dismantle the NRA. They’re trying to plead bankruptcy to get out of it. And then reform in another, more gun-friendly State. But what funds are they going to use, if they’re bankrupt? That kind of financial shenanigans is why James is investigating them.

  6. Mexico has two big problems: the USA, and the USA. The USA is the source of huge amounts of money to buy those powerful drugs that cause so much harm. And it is also the source of the mountains of guns the drug cartels use to enforce their power over that drug industry.
