  3. Long-term, the demographics in the USA are moving towards a majority of Blacks and Asians and Hispanics and basically everything non-Anglo. I see this as the last gasp of the slave-owner mentality, pulling out every stop and sacrificing every scruple and semblance of ethical behaviour in order to maintain their grip on power. They seem prepared to trample on every part of the US Constitution🗡 in order to keep that power. 🗡Except one: the Second Amendment seems to be the only part sacred to them.

  4. It seems to me there is a line, and that line is being able to draw a direct connection between dollars and votes. Anything as close as you like to that line is considered acceptable, just so long as you don’t (blatantly) cross it. That’s what makes the whole system sick; the idea that you should be above any sort of credible accusations of being less than squeaky clean has gone out the window.

  5. In places like Germany and New Zealand, we have “proportional representation”, where every vote counts equally. I highly recommend that as a voting system. It does almost invariably lead to coalition governments (because no one party can get an overall majority), but I think that’s a Good Thing.
