  1. The reality, at least in the US, is that the gun is far more likely to hurt you, or someone you care about, than it is to successfully protect you against somebody else. This is why, in civilized countries, we don’t buy that sort of argument.

  3. Ah, somebody else who doesn’t understand the difference between a constructive tool and a destructive weapon. What is Free Software good for? Lots of things. It lets you do online banking securely. It lets you create artworks for others to enjoy. It lets you keep track of your business accounts, so you can earn money to feed your loved ones and put a roof over their heads. It provides powerful analysis tools that let you study scientific data and make the world a better place for all humankind. What is a gun good for? It has only one function: blowing holes in things (and people). When it is causing injury, destruction and death, it is only working as designed. What have the two got in common? Nothing. DO NOT USE “FREEDOM” AS AN EXCUSE FOR BRANDISHING DANGEROUS WEAPONRY IN PUBLIC!
