  3. Unfortunately, the insurmountable barrier for the “mainstream” hardware makers trying to go downwards is Microsoft Windows. That is simply too power-hungry to run on an ARM chip. And if you give up the ARM chip and put an Intel one in there, you lose the price/performance advantage.

  11. Such components already exist -- you’ll find them inside a smartphone. Which, you might notice, is an order of magnitude more expensive than a Raspberry π.
