  2. Ada was designed in the 1980s specifically for embedded and safety-critical systems. For example, the life-support system on the International Space Station is written in Ada. Now there is a project, called SPARK, to create a provably memory-safe subset of Ada, with the intention to bring in more of the Ada language over time. Nvidia has been making use of this.
