  1. Back then, there were about 10 companies making mainframe computers worldwide. Today, all the the others are out of that business, and even IBM isn’t making much money out of them any more. It keeps shrinking and laying off swathe after swathe of staff, and I’m not sure it has had a single profitable year this century.

  2. How widely was this seen, back in the day? It was made in San Mateo County, for one or two TV stations. Was it ever shown across much of the US? Somehow I doubt that.
