4:51 The C category permits non-Free JavaScript, so long as it is not essential for the site to function. The B category prohibits this altogether.

Quote: C grade: “any such code used by an important site function either (1) is free software ... or (2) isn't necessary, so that the function works properly even if JavaScript is disabled in the browser.” B grade: “All code sent to the user's browser must be free software”. Note the “all”. Seems pretty clear; the non-Free JavaScript must be optional at level C, and is not allowed at all at level B.

The question is putting limits on the freedom of others who use your software. Speaking of which, consider that the AGPL is the only supposedly-“free” licence I know of that impinges on Freedom 0 (the freedom to use the software as you wish). Does this make it a non-Free licence? I think there is a case.
