  1. Here in NZ I would describe it more as “mutual respect” between Government and people. And both of them respect the science. We have checks and balances in our democracy, and so far they have been holding up.

  2.  Mike Luke  1993 was the year of the election with the “hung Parliament”. Almost like the first MMP election, though that wasn’t officially until 1996. That was an interesting time to come to NZ. ;)

  3. The audit may mean he has to adjust his tax payments, but it doesn’t change the fact of how much he has paid so far. That can’t be under dispute, surely. Unless his accountants are incompetent ...
