Polite and civil. Everybody was allowed to finish their questions, and get complete answers. No cutting somebody off in favour of somebody else.

Greetings to everyone in 🇺🇸 from 🇳🇿. Watching this reminds me of our own press briefings from our approximate-Fauci-equivalent, Dr Ashley Bloomfield. Both the experts and the politicians trying to answer questions from the press to the best of their ability, everybody acting in a civil fashion, without trying bullshit their way through anything. Only we were having ours last year, right from the beginning of the crisis, with the full weight of the Government behind taking the necessary action. We had a few deaths. We went through a month-long lockdown. That was painful. As were one or two subsequent scares. But so far, our fragile little Covid-free bubble has been mostly holding. We were never at the stage where hospital intensive-care facilities were at breaking point. I mourn with you the 400,000 Americans dead. But now that the adults are back in charge, hopefully things will start to get better.

@ace_gainsventura_flexdetective Yes, masks do work, even though the pores in an N95 mask may be bigger than the viruses. One virologist likened it to “multiple rugby players trying to push through a doorway at the same time”. If that weren’t enough, you only have to look at the parts of the world where mask-wearing has become widely accepted, versus the parts where it has not.
