  1.  @afitlife  I don’t think there is an overall coherent plan. Our leaders may have a rough strategy, but mostly they are reacting to circumstances as they change. That, too, is quite typical of war.

  4. There is the economic factor, that Russia has been supplying oil and gas to Europe, and those supplies are now severely constrained (not to mention the Nord Stream attacks). European leaders seem reluctant to make their people suffer too much, particularly now winter is coming. Then there is the N-word: how far can the West push back before Russia decides it has nothing to lose? How crazy can Putin get, before he is forced to back down by saner voices on his own side? War is a complicated thing. Not like the movies.
