  1. When I was little, back in the old country with the UK-style plugs, I used to be confused by the word “FUSED” embossed into their cases. Because adult relatives only used the word “fused” to mean “the fuse has blown”!

  2. Here in NZ, in the hospital wards, the electrical outlets are of two types. Some of them are bright red--those are the ones with RCD protection, for use with hospital medical equipment only. The ordinary ones can be used by patients for their electronic devices.
