Honestly I think Desantis screwed up long before that by even considering running at all, it looks traitorous to the MAGA crowd because the MAGA crowd is pretty confident Trump is OWED his second term in office and yet here's Ron Desantis over here making a play at the white house specifically for himself. I think by not hooking himself to the Trump train early and playing the "wait and see" game he may have screwed himself for 2028 in the process.
