  1. Why can't people just say the pledge in appreciation for being provided the opportunities this nation affords us thanks to every day citizens paying their taxes? If for nothing else, say it for your fellow American that's allowed you to earn a first world public education. I guess it's asking too much to just not be a dick, if you can't do that then why exactly do you deserve an education at all? I mean there is only 1 flag you can fly that matters, and if it's not the American flag then what the fuck are you doing?

Disagree, you stand and say the pledge, our tax dollars mean something even if you think they're just numbers on a piece of paper, you get to go there because your neighbors paid for it, if you can't so much as stand and say the pledge then go home, the least you can do is show some sense of gratitude. I think what you meant to say styx is you should be able to choose to get a public education or not an education at all, which just leads into a completely different discussion altogether.
