Republicans actually dropped the ball on the recall effort, they helped turn a reprimand of Newsom's policies into an election because Republicans pushed a candidate before the recall even happened. Everybody was onboard with the Newsom recall until Elder showed up, then they had a perfect boogeyman. Republicans/Conservatives are just REALLY BAD at political strategy and they don't learn from their failures, they just make excuses and now people are applying "they cheated" to everything beyond the places where it looks like they actually did.. not good.

If only republicans didn't drop the ball by running larry elder long before he should've been promoting himself, he and the republicans couldn't wait to get their names out there, democrats just took the opportunity to change the nature of the recall effort and turn it into an election between 2 parties instead of a reprimand of one man's sh** policy. As usual Republicans/Conservatives couldn't see the big picture. A republican wasn't going to win California, a Democrat always was, but it was going to be a democrat that couldn't run on Newsom's policies and wouldn't dare to repeat them because the recall would've been successful. Instead of republicans/conservatives learning that lesson they're complaining that "As-Blue-As-It-Gets" California somehow cheated the recall effort. jfc.
