  1. We're a constitutional republic, if we were a democracy the morons in shit covered san francisco would be deciding all the policy and the people we put in charge for the other 49 states. Amazing how people don't know the difference, why democracy sucks ass and why a republic is a way to go, though it didn't do Rome much good because even the dumb asses got to speak.

  2. Lol I thought something stunk. if you do even surface level of research you come to learn that the government is behind their reason to even need to do this. It's a tiny town with barely 1,400 people living in it and they wanted it only on one 10,000 sq/ft lot and they won't rezone it. So the space is too small for larger grocery chains to utilize it properly, and it's too big (and way too expensive) for a smaller local mom&pop shop to run it (there's been plenty of interest). See, normally in a free functioning community you would simply chop the land up, but BECAUSE of the government they WONT, so of course the Government decides "Well I guess I gotta run it!"

  3. ​ @debbiedogs1 Bureaucracies are objectively far more inefficient than a specialized private company that only serves one purpose, that's just an objective fact, that's not fear mongering that's just basic business. Time is money and the government wastes a SHITLOAD of time, so what sense does it make for us all to collectively pay MORE for a service that can be done even better by a private company for even less? What incentive does the bureaucracy have to get the lowest price when you MANDATE everyone to pay your budget every year? That's just stupid.
