  2. Nah they aren't wrong, most distros are pointless. I started Linux only a few years ago and I gotta say the single most confusing part about learning to use Linux is how a lot of you put so much emphasis on Distro when in reality there's like... 5 actual distros to choose from and you're only choosing them based off of update cycle and package manager. Everything else is just some pre-config of a desktop environment or a calamares installer slapped on top of a good distro. I still laugh at how many jimmies it rustled when Linux Cast called out the goofiness that was you guys doing "distro reviews" (don't see them much nowadays gee I wonder why!) where you guys are basically just booting up a desktop environment, clicking around it and essentially saying "This desktop environment was a good comparison to the exact same desktop environment I reviewed a week ago!". You guys do present an idea of Linux that doesn't exactly exist lol..
