  1. SystemD = IBM essentially owns your init system and soydevs for whatever reason require a dependency on it. SystemD is probably linux people's biggest hypocrisy. Yes it "works" but so does windows by that logic. What I don't understand is why people hammer on Canonical because it will create all sorts of problems for people downstream but not apply the same cautionary tales to SystemD. You're all gonna be real ticked off when IBM/RedHat INEVITABLY pull a fast one on you, and because of the nature of corpos you won't even see it coming. Then you'll be right back here complaining that OpenRC and Runit don't have nearly as much support lol. THAT's why people complain. Yall will go on and on about all the software you can swap out but for some reason make excuses for this. Do you not get it? Entire distros are teetering over the precipice with only IBM holding them up lol, they can pull the rug out from under you at any time.
