Electrolytes is the key! I couldn't get past 3 days despite trying many times. Currently 5 days into my second 7 day fast. Electrolytes really take the edge off. Good luck with your future fasts! π

Yes...of course. It is only Muslims that don't drink during the day while fasting.

Bro', no disrespect intended, but to suggest that just by changing your eating routine from day to night, as you do during ramaddan, that you are somehow experiencing what it is to be poor and malnourished is a bit ridiculous. The length of fasting you are doing is actually quite easy. I think it is more difficult that you can't drink anything during the fasting period. Just my opinion of course. π

I had the same issues as you. I did many 48 to 72 hour fasts wanting to go longer but got the same symptoms as you described. I eventually realised I was depleting my electrolytes which lead to the symptoms which are similar to sun-stroke. I tried having an electrolyte drink in the morning and afternoon/evening with my vitamin supplements and the rest is history. I am 5 days into my second 7 day fast and finding it relatively easy. I researched as much as I could and all the information states that the small amount of glucose in a serve of electrolytes (@ 3g) will not break your fast. Yes, you will still have cravings but I've found using electrolytes keep it at a bearable level. Also, have a black tea or coffee if you feel you are about to succumb to your hunger pains. This is also acceptable while fasting and I find it really takes the edge off. All the best for your future fasts! π

βΒ @StrengthAndConditioning61Β That must be the reason why God doesn't help the 900'000'000 people around the world who are malnourished...π

Β @StrengthAndConditioning61Β Your response is pretty much what you have to believe God does a lot given the amount of misery, suffering and cruelty that happens around the world on a daily basis and He does nothing about it. He just watches with indifference and says "Whatever". π₯±ππ€·ββοΈ

Well done! How long did it take you to lose 50kg?

Yep...no obesity in the good ol' U.S. of A right? ππ€£

Β @karla683Β That's awesome! But 600 calories a day? You may as well just fast! Ha! Ha! π Seriously though, it sounds like you have found a system that works great for you (every persons physiology is different after all). That's great steady weight loss. You should be proud of what you have achieved so far and I hope it continues for you over the long- term. Well done! π

Did He tell you this? π€

Β @mattcaruso2520Β I'm an Atheist and am currently 5 days into my second 7 day fast and I don't feel any closer to "God". That all the facts I need, but whatever works for you I guess. π

Β @mattcaruso2520Β Perhaps you can tell me if God gives fasting credits to the 900'000'000 people in the world who He knows are malnourished? π€
