  12. Not a single example has ever been shown were a member of the SS was executed for refusing to participate in mass executions or "processing" of concentration camp victims. They could choose not to be involved in the worst of it if they felt strongly enough about it. An example of this is Oskar Gröning the so-called "Bookkeeper of Aushwitz".
