@@TonyGramsci-rh9muYou are living in a bubble and talking into an echo chamber. These local councils make decisions they don't have a mandate for. Perth consistently had 300'000+ people turning out every year to watch the Australia Day fireworks and celebrate being Australian until the Perth City Council decided in 2023 that were not going to do it anymore due to "community concerns and climate change". (Apparently, the smoke from the fireworks affects the weather). 🙄 Like you, totally idealogical and detached from reality and the average citizen's opinion!

Don't forget the carton of Winnie Blues! 😉

"...increased rates of education..." read: indoctrination.

@@TonyGramsci-rh9muWhat invasion? Arriving at a particular place to set up a colony is not invading. There were more convicts, crew and civilians than soldiers. Stop being so melodramatic ffs! 🙄

@EL-FUKKO It comes in flagons?!

@Resident13M_SVNTN87 Nope. You gave up the right to dictate to anyone about anything when "your people" couldn't figure out how to repel a few hundred unwanted visitors. Bloody hell! If just a few thousand of them had got organised and threw one spear each they probably would have got the job done in one overwhelming attack; but no. As a result, we now have this amazing, safe, prosperous, modern civilisation to call home. Imagine if every group of people on the planet wanted to continually air their grievances about injustices that happened to their ancestors hundreds of years ago. Aborigines didn't go through anything that the ancestors of every person alive today didn't go through. It was only because of geographical isolation that they weren't dragged kicking and screaming into the modern world sooner. Also, I find your bond with Muslims surprising. Do you have any knowledge of the Arab-Muslim trans-Saharan slave trade that operated continuously for 1'300 years?

What does this have to do with Australia Day? 🤔

@Resident13M_SVNTN87 I'm glad you have turned your life around. If Islam is the reason, then go with what works for you.But just going on your comments, I don't think you really know your professed religion. The Quran does not specifically forbid slavery nor attempt to abolish it. Muhammad himself had a slave who was given to him as gift by a Roman governor. The British were instrumental in ending the trans-Atlantic slave-trade and even had to use military force to stop some African tribes from practising it. Mauritania (an Islamic country) only outlawed slavery in 2007. Islam might be the world's fastest growing religion but why does migration to and from Islamic countries seem to only go one way? Afghanis fled their country in the millions when the Taliban took back control and implemented sharia. (Their Muslims brothers in Pakistan recently forced hundreds of thousands of them to return against their will). No hatred here mate. I wish the best for everyone, but I will push back against misinformation if I perceive it. I don't think this constant focus on race, ethnicity, religious belief and other differences between humans is healthy or uniting in our society. All the best to you.

@turnyourbacktoit I very much doubt that he reads The Australian. 😄

@BobPsomiadis Ha! Ha! I don't report any comments except those marketing ones pretending that they have 25 "random" people suddenly become interested in an exciting new way to make money! 😄

@BobPsomiadis I'm just against censorship in general. I wish it worked both ways with these religious types though. I've had many comments deleted and 24 hour bans from YouTube when involved in discussions with these people. They love offering their opinions, but hate hearing opposing points of view. Ha! Ha! 😄

You are living in the wrong country if that is how you feel.

@@TonyGramsci-rh9muJanuary the 26th is the most appropriate date to celebrate what Australia is, and why it is, what it is. Before that date in 1788, there was a predominantly Palaeolithic culture across the entire continent that was unchanged for tens of thousands of years. After Jan 26 1788, modernity and everything we benefit from in our modern day to day lives (everything!) had it's beginnings in this country. There is not a single invention, innovation or idea that comes from traditional Aboriginal culture that benefits an average Australian on a day to day basis. Aside from that, we can't pick a date that is important to Aboriginals because they didn't have a concept of specific days of the year. So, Jan 26 is the perfect date to celebrate our wonderful history and how lucky we are to live here! Good luck wallowing in your own self-loathing; the rest of us will continue being proud and grateful Australians! 🇦🇨❤👍😉👍❤🇦🇨

@vivrowe2763 Change is a fact of life. But look at how millions of people turn out for Australia Day celebrations across the country. This cancelling citizenship ceremonies is the very few thinking they represent the majority view, which they don't. So, be encouraged by the result of the racist and divisive "voice" referendum. These ideologues haven't taken over just yet! 🙂

@vivrowe2763 I know. When I was at school there wasn't this constant focus on race, ethnicity, skin colour etc. Everyone was just an Australian kid getting on in the world. It wears you down constantly listening to it these days.
