They didn't have grave markers or memorials or even a record of anything that happened in the 60'000 years before Europeans arrived. Just word-of-mouth song-lines. Just primitive, nomadic hunter-gatherers living in the Stone-Age.

Modern humans were not even in existence when continental drift separated the Australian continent from S/E Asia. Australia became fully separated from Papua New Guinea at the end of the last ice-age when sea levels rose due to the melting ice-caps.

Regardless, incredibly unsophisticated given the amount of time they had to develop things and compared to what other cultures were doing all over the world.
