  5. I don't know about Raleigh, but it is unheard of where I live that the sheriff will be coming to throw your a$$ in jail because you missed jury duty.

  6. Yes, he probably did freak out. I'm not an aviation expert, but there are countless incidents of landing gear problems. Most end up with no injuries, aside from the airplane being damaged. To jump out makes no sense.

  7. I'm still confused why the pilot jumped, aside from being suicidal. If he wasn't, what is a more probability of death? Jumping out of a plane at a high altitude with no parachute, or landing a plane with a landing gear problem? On commercial airlines, pilots don't jump out when there's trouble, leaving the passengers doomed. Maybe if you're an Air Force pilot and your plane is going to crash, you eject.
