  1. Nothing has changed since this aired. If anything, things will get worse. The Social Security trust fund is predicted to be depleted sooner, inflation is increasing, jobs don't pay great allowing people to save more, COVID-19 screwed up lots of our plans, etc., etc., etc. It looks like we'll be "enjoying" an active retirement of collecting bottles and cans.

  2. Amazon workers did have an opportunity to unionize at a different location recently. That would have made a statement, but we know how that turned out. That said, pushing boxes all day doesn't create job satisfaction. It's a tough job. Physically, it's something that's more tolerable when you're younger, but as you get older, it could be impossible. There's no one solution to this, but Amazon workers do need to look beyond working in a warehouse. It would be nice if Amazon paid everyone $100,000 a year, but that will never happen.
