The name of the city (Barrow) was changed to Utqiaġvik, Alaska in 2016, although it's still commonly referred to as Barrow.

At about 3:15 you mentioned Gibraltar. The UK has never been part of the Schengen agreement, which includes Gibraltar so there has been Gibraltar border controls, although maybe not always manned. Areas like Norway and Switzerland are part of the Schengen, but not part of the EU, so you should not see border controls between those two countries and the EU. There are border controls right now between the UK and France, even though both at present are part of the EU. It's the opposite between Ireland and Northern Ireland. Ireland is part of the EU but there are no border controls between Ireland and Northern Ireland due to an agreement with the UK. It's easy to mix this stuff up.

I'm not going to watch this because the title is ridiculous. It can't happen. If, somehow it did by the earth being struck by a giant meteor, we'll all be dead. End of story. What's the point?

I've read about this. If, after completion, they didn't like that new expanded desert while at the same time flooding coastal cities throughout the world, it can easily be reversed. Just blow up that dam at the Strait of Gibraltar and let all the water back in. 100 years of work for nothing.

In addition to the 4+ years for the signal to reach back to earth, would these tiny spaceships have enough transmission power for the radio waves to even reach us and/or be usable? We might need to have them turn around and come back to report, so add another 20 years for that. We also need to be extremely lucky for the closest star also to have habitable planets. After all this time we might discover that Proxima Centauri only has some dead rocks circling it, then it's back to the drawing board, start over, and pick another star.
