  1. Europe has plenty of shopping streets near CBDs, with stores and restaurants going every direction. They seem to do well. Lets convert from malls to these instead.

  2.  @ClayMann  Agree. Cruise lines fly under flags of convenience, like Panama and Liberia, to avoid many U.S. taxes and regulations. Congress isn't going to bail out foreign companies. If the cruise lines need a bailout, they need to ask Panama or Liberia.

  3. I tried looking up what your real college credit from Hamburger U is? I had a hard time figuring this out, but my guess would be if a real college accepted it as transfer credit, you might get one semester unit of credit for your week at Hamburger U. Whether that unit you can apply to a degree, maybe, but who knows. That said, Hamburger U is there to help with a career at McDonald's.

  4. It took a while for phones to become smaller than that 1970's prototype. In the late 1980's Radio Shack was still adverting portable cellphones that you could get a hernia carrying.

  5. No solution unless everyone wants to cruise in hazmat or space suits. Cruises, by their very nature, are a lot of people sharing the same, relatively small space, for a period of time. Face masks aren't the answer as air recirculates, and of course, people eating in the cafeterias obviously can't wear masks while eating. Cruising may start again, but it isn't an if, but when, passengers board with an asymptomatic virus, spread it to others, and then this whole quarantine thing starts again. A couple of those, and you can put another nail in the cruise industry coffin.

  8. Is renting pieces of a piece of office space all that profitable these days? People have figured out since the pandemic how much they can do in their house. If they need some space for a coming meeting, there's zillions of places to do that without WeWork. WeWork may work, but more than likely it won't work for the long term. I wish I had a dime when I've heard something hyped as the new "disrupter" that ends up being a bunch of hot air.

  9. Why stop at cassette tapes. VHS and Betamax still exist. I have to admit, even though I haven't been using my cassette players and VHS players much at all, I do have a ton of tapes. But audio survives much better. Old VHS tapes seem to just fade, and become unwatchable as time goes by.
