Correct me if I'm wrong: A president can't pardon someone from state charges.

I kind of understand what the defense is doing, but it's irrelevant. Cohen isn't on trial. Whether it's the $30,000, or he fed his dog cat food, it's not part of this case.
371
Getting into a fight at a cemetery. That's a new low.

No lawyer is going to attack the jury. If DJT wants that, he'll need to take the witness stand and do just that.

If one is traveling to Manhattan, there are thousands of things to do. Going to lower Manhattan to hang around in front of a courthouse, has got to be the bottom of everyone's list of how to spend their day, except for maybe two supporters.
50
Why is Kudlow sitting there nodding his head like everything he is saying is spot on?
42
Todd Blanche wasted so much time in the closing arguments, and elsewhere, trying to tear apart Michael Cohen. How many times did he refer to him as a liar? Whether he was one or not, he wasn't the person who is on trial. Michael Cohen already had his trial and served his time.
26
@bobcob3362 Cohen is not on trial. Do I need to repeat myself?
24
They were jamming last night. Watching it on TV, I did start to fall asleep. I have to be at work early.
20
I wouldn't look at him either. A couple weeks ago we were warned not to stare at the sun during the eclipse. Looking at him too long will cause retina damage quicker than looking at the sun.

Raising chickens isn't free, and chickens in your backyard can still catch bird flu. You got to take care of them, keep them in the coop at night and clean up after them. Besides, unless you have an individual home with enough room in the backyard, and not a HOA that will object, you can't raise chickens. That also brings up the point if you don't want fertilized eggs, you got to keep roosters away, except for when you want chicks. If you live in an apartment or condo, you don't want chickens living in your house. Most everyone will still need to buy them, unless you don't want to eat eggs.

The woman is sick. Aren't there animal cruelty laws in South Dakota?
16
If I only knew jail would have sped up my career when I graduated college, I would have immediately robbed a bank once I got my diploma. :/
15
Me 2.
14
There had to be a flashing applause sign for the audience. As for the four of the six panelists applauding that gibberish nonsense, they're like sheep. They heard the audience applause so they must too.
13
This is what happens when you have politicians that you now have in the doctor's office with the patient and the doctor. This won't end here. An embryo is a fraction of a millimeter. If there are a dozen frozen embryos from a couple in hopes of producing one child, what happens? For the other 11 that end up not being used for whatever reasons, will the clinic be charged with mass murder?
13
@RyanFerguson369 OK, then. What did he just say?
13
Bret Baier did ask for the Faulkner show clip, not the Bartiromo clip, that he claimed the next day was the "right clip." The control room played what he asked for. It's what him, and Fox, wanted. If he made a mistake, why did he wait 24 hours? He should have said something right there.
11
Young voters need to vote. If they don't vote, young voters are not young voters. Just being eligible and registered to vote doesn't make them a voter. I'm not a young voter, but I haven't missed voting in a presidential election since I was 18. I want to tell young voters one thing: It's not difficult. Vote.

Something doesn't sound right. If they really were talking to two people I would think it was by satellite phone. I doubt there's cellphone service in such a remote mountain area. I also read something about the pilot needing to land because of the fog. That makes zero sense. I'm not a pilot but you don't land a helicopter in the mountains where you can't see, let alone an area that isn't flat. I'm thinking of when the helicopter crashed near L.A. carrying Kobe Bryant. The pilot didn't try to land. He got disoriented in the fog and ended up crashing into the hills around Calabasas.

I'm glad Rachel Maddow can read the worst handwriting in the world (Allen Weisselberg's) because I can't figure out a word of it. :/
8
DNC roll call: We know what that was. RNC's roll call: Resembled a hostage video.
8
I noticed that too. Was she a bit out of breath or exhausted running to where they're set up outside the courthouse or street noise distracting her? She even sounded a bit nervous, which would be unusual for an experienced reporter. It was hard to follow her.
8
List those health issues. We would like the hear.
7
I wonder. During direct he'll do OK, but during cross what can you do if he answers "the fifth" to every question?
7
I was going to say the same thing.
6
This would have been too bizarre for David Letterman's top 10.
5
She would have made a good juror if it wasn't for her work commitments. Of course, the defense might have tried to dismiss her, because they like the poorly educated.
5
People believe what they want to believe and it's now impossible to stop. I remember when I was in Dublin years ago and some guy was asking me for a euro. I wasn't about to be bothered with that, so I might have said something curt. The beggar then started to say "I'm sorry" to me, took some money out of his pocket, gave it to me and then ran away. I'll always remember that. Reverse begging.
5
Prison isn't a cakewalk, even minimum security prisons. If he doesn't report he'll be in really deep doo-doo. I doubt he'll do that. It's not like he can hide anywhere for a long time.
5
May 3rd is now etched in history? (0:12) You meant May 30th. :/
5
Most of California is in a drought. This is what caused the L.A. fires. When in droughts, and other times, we need to save the water for guaranteed dry days, like in the late summer. That water won't be there when we need it.
5
He's a big boy now. He can't blame ABC, CNN, NBC, etc. He needs to look in the mirror to figure out why things went wrong.
4
Happy Birthday! I love how Mika just stopped when she saw the name "Mini Melts" in the teleprompter. She mentioned that she eats four or five of them a day and if that's bad (5:27). Considering each one is smaller than a pea, it's not enough. I've never heard of Mini Melts until just now. I've lived a sheltered life. :/
4
That's 100% more than what a lot of schools teach over here.
3
Then there's that statement played from the spokeswoman that "she has not had a real job in her life." Ari didn't mention that. I think they were getting at non-government experience. Well, we all know she worked at McDonald's. My first real job was at Taco Bell. These are real jobs. They don't pay well, but you're doing a lot of work for not much pay. Anyone who worked fast food knows that from experience.
3
It had to be fun to play Trump, but then he had to deal with walking around town with orange makeup that he can't wash off. ;)
3
I was in Reno/Lake Tahoe a couple weeks ago. You can't get away from the political ads. It's everywhere.
3
@jameswheeler349 That's what I was thinking. Anyone posting an enormous bond like this for him is guaranteed to be bankrupt.
3
If the statistics look phony, they'll quickly be ignored. No more of the news organizations breaking into their coverage for the latest monthly statistic. They'll look at other statistics. I don't feel it will work.
3
I couldn't find the word "Kamabla" in online dictionaries, so I have no idea what he means. The closest I found was Kambala, which is an annual buffalo race in the Indian state of Karnataka. He does, though, stick with a group of childish names for people. This was fun when you're in the third grade, but 78 is kind of old to still be a third grader.
3
Meeting with a dictator. Even though she had to recant, if she kept to the story, where was this meeting? In South Dakota? Something like that couldn't be kept a secret. How would have that travel been arranged? In North Korea? Not very likely. The only other possible location is a Zoom type meeting. Anyway, she learned quick from you-know-who on how it's OK to make up things. Anything. She then starts talking about the fake news, when she is the Queen of Fake. By the way, the way she looked a while ago is sure better than when she decided to stuff her lips up with Botox.
2
There is something wrong with that woman, yet people elected her.
2
As far as the sleep defense, it's one thing when the defendant is asleep. It's another if the spectators out in the bleachers are snoring. Not the same thing. They're not required to be awake.
2
They'll still blame the president for high prices, even though it's a worldwide problem, and no one person on the planet controls that.
2
If the ocean is full of all this electrical current, why doesn't the shark get electrocuted?
2
I don't know what's the big deal about muted microphones. This is 2024. I'm sure the professionals who set up the audio equipment know of microphones that can pick up the voice clearly of the other person 10 or 15 feet away. Heck, the debate could be done with one microphone, maybe suspended from the ceiling, for the candidates and the ABC reporter.
2
At 4:35 what were the four men on the panel applauding about at the end of that gibberish? Maybe they were applauding just that he's finally done talking.
2
New York needs to do the right thing and have Trump campaign for President from jail.
2
If an 8 year old in school said about a classmate, "I hate Johnny" he would be talked to by his teacher and that would be the end of it. It's maybe something to expect from an 8 year old, not a 78 year old.
