It was down in L.A. this morning, with my phone starting to work again at about 3:00 am PT. Maybe a hack since it was so widespread.

No. A Big Mac Attack .

At a mailbox near me where the mail was stolen, they didn't need keys. They cut a hole in the side of the box and got the mail out. Thieves also fish the mail out from the mail slot. Always mail letters from inside the post office.

I would either throw it out or make a trip to the Goodwill store once it a while. He's not under any obligation to keep it. He can keep what he wants and toss or sell the rest.

Did the purchaser ever see the car in the first place or just decide to purchase the car based on a picture from a Craigs List ad in Fort Myers Florida?

I had an issue years ago with Wells Fargo Bank. Someone got the check from the mail, added an "8" in front of the amount and deposited it. It didn't even look like a good forgery when I looked at the check image, and was mobile deposited. Wells Fargo credited me with the money back fairly quick, but made me get a new checking account number. Since then, I only mail checks when I need to inside the post office, and fill them out with a permanent black pen. Even then, I'm skeptical when banks take checks just by a cellphone photograph. Their check looks like it was deposited into an ATM. Can't they go back to the owner of that account and investigate things?

Getaround will give you the Runaround. That should be their name. As is typical with a lot of companies, they'll screw customers unless a customer can get their story on television. Then they'll "apologize," but will continue to do this. It's their way of doing business.

Not a cyber attack. A Big Mac Attack.

Why did the reporter at the start say this man lost "millions of dollars?" Poor reporting, or even poorer safeguards for what is typed into the teleprompter. Anyway, Facebook isn't doing enough, or should I say almost nothing? How do these scams stay on Facebook for more than a few minutes, and collect thousands of likes? Even if they just ban the name "Agent John Williams," the scammers can just use a different name tomorrow. "Agent Joe Johnson" or thousands of other names will work just fine.

The woman shouldn't be unbanked. Open a checking account with a local bank or credit union with a debit card, then work on getting a credit card. More convenient and cheaper than buying prepaid gift cards for yourself.
