  1. I used to go to Austin in August for a work conference. I soon understood why the conference was always in August. That Austin heat. My employer probably got hotel rooms and stuff for dirt cheap for that time. :)

  2. You should have asked me. So Cal native but I've been to San Francisco a bunch. For the L.A. area, summers can be hot, especially inland. Late winter and spring is best to walk around. San Francisco can also be kind of cold during the winter. A damp type of coldness. During the evening you could need a coat. Light jackets are good during the spring and summer, but something a bit heavier during the late fall and winter, but some warm days can sneak in there too. If you find you're not prepared, just go to Macy's and buy what you need. :)

  3. Tule fog has decreased for several reasons (Google it). As far as San Francisco being cooler in summer, there's nothing wrong with that. Nice walking weather plus you save on your air conditioning bill (of course housing and renting there is sky high). I live in the San Fernando Valley. I've come to hate the summers. It's so damn hot during the day, your car is an oven when you enter it. For a few months each year I need to schedule my outdoor activities just before sunrise, to avoid the successive 100F+/38C+ days. There have been days that have hit 120. Nothing to look forward to.
