  4. Well, there's still the front landing gear on the upside down plane. For the rear, one wing is gone and for the other I don't see much landing gear. So from me, the non-expert, all the landing gear touched the runway at about the same time. Hard landing, one rear landing gear collapsed, the other wing broke off, and all hell broke loose.

  7. I will have the agree with the theory that hull failure doomed the Titan. The crew probably died in a second. Testing the submersible in the Puget Sound is not the same as taking it 3,800 meters down. Carbon fiber will work in an airplane since it's not subject to 400 atmospheres of pressure. After several cycles of going down and up to see the ship, microscopic cracks and weaknesses might have developed. On the way down it finally imploded. If all they eventually find are tiny pieces of the hull, that's probably what happened. At least dying this way is preferable to being stuck on the bottom of the ocean for days with no hope of rescue.

If this was in L.A., television news helicopters would have carried it live. Even though there are many flight restrictions over Manhattan, I find it suspicious there are no ground videos. Everyone has a smart phone, where half of them want to get it on YouTube ASAP. Where are these car-chase videos?
