  3. He died. Jumping into the dark wilderness/forest in late November in Pacific Northwest late fall weather), was suicide. If he survived, it might have not been for long. Maybe he was stuck up in a tree with a broken leg without proper winter gear if he didn't fall into the river. It would have been better if the parachutist reenacting the jump did it in the same location, at night during the same time of year. More realistic but too dangerous, so it's during the day in Southern California. I'm not familiar with a 727 but according to this documentary the rear staircase could be open during the flight. At a low altitude, I guess that's safe, but could it still be open by anyone at 30,000 feet?
