@mastermariner490 Think for a minute: how is Russia taking significant human losses when it's solders mainly engaged in artillery battles with an enemy 30-40 kilometers away, that has 15-20 times less firing power, outnumbered and almost surrounded?

@mastermariner490 when you have 15 to 1 advantage in firing power, the artillery mostly goes one way. Have you heard that roads for resupplying Ukranians troops in Licychanks have been all blocked except 1 that have been under constant bombardment? The "munition hunger" makes Ukranians to engage in a battle only in critical situations. Ukranian speacial forces mainly trapped in Azot chemical plant. The others who go on their missions being found and destroyed most of the time. Russian intellegence on the field is extraordinary due to many sympatizers among civilians. No wonder, it's the Donbass area and that means mostly ethnic Russians. Russians are jamming GPS signal and downing drones. That's just how it is...

@mwarabuy2k Ukranian army already had many long range (40-70 km) soviet made weapons (uragan, smerch, grad, tochka- U etc...) with a lot munitions. It's all gone now. Destroyed by the Russians. New ones from the West will make no difference. They can't fight normally constantly seeking new weapons. It's just not possible.

@mastermariner490 Yes, that's what they're trying to do, but all the area around Lisychansk and Severodonezk is almost surrounded. Roads are blocked (country roads too), leaving Ukranian troops no resupply or retreat routes. Their situation is critical, and that's why Zelensky is so desperate. Licychansk is the main Ukranian stronghold and once fallen, there will be no much of a resistance anywhere in Ukraine. Maybe, Kiev only. 6000 to 10000 Ukranian troops in Donbass are almost surrounded. They either surrender or die in the upcoming weeks.

@thewestfaceofdhaulagiri6697 Zelenskyy can not accept reality. That's his weakness. He chooses to be a pawn in geopolitical chess and to serve his western bosses insted of being independent leader. The worse of all, he trades lives of his men calmly for a territory that will never be back in Ukraine and he is the one responsible for this.

@mastermariner490 How exactly Ukranian special forces "holding" Azot chemical plant? The briges across the river are blown and no retreate way to Licychansk. Besides, they are outnumbered to Russian forces and can't make counter offensive to retake the city. So? They're simply blocked and trapped in in the plant and If not for civilians, Russians could have just blown up chemical storages in this factory, making it impossible to stay inside. So, they hide, using civilians as shield. The army can not fight effectively while training new soldeirs and officers, gathering new equipment and weaponary, begging for help from the West and staying on a territory of another NATO country base, bcuz they are affaid to be destroyed by Russian Calibers or Iskanders at home. That's just can't work out good.
