  1.  @ApusApus  Let's do a little math: the steel plant is about 11 square kilometers. How many soldiers do you think they need to control whole perimeter of it's area, so no one could sneak in or out undetected? 11 square km is a square with approximately 3.666 km sides (it also can be a rectangle, but never mind), so how many soldiers do you need to fully control a perimeter of (3.666 × 4 sides) 14.444 km? If you put 1 soldier to watch over a 50 meter line (that really short distance), you'd need at least 2800 soldiers. Not really a lot, but I'm sure russians have the map of the plant and they know exactly where to anticipate any attempts of breaking out. So, they seal and wait. Only one possible outcome is that azov will surrender. I see it as full control by the Russians.

  3.  @ApusApus  Sorry, my calculations are wrong. 1. 11 square kilometers IS a square area of ~ 3.6 km long sides. That's right. 2. We need to know the perimeter's lenght of that square. 3.6 km × 4 =~ 14.24 km =~ 14 250 meters. 3. We need to know how many soldiers they need to watch every 50 meters of the 14 250 meter long perimeter. So it's 14250 ÷ 50 = 285!!! NOT 2800!!! Sorry for my previous miscalculation. ONLY 280 soldiers needed to watch every 50 meter of 14 250 meter long perimeter. 280 soldiers can stand in line in 50 meters distance from each other and completely cover the perimeter of more than 14 kilometers! NOT 2800!!! I'm sure they got cameras and mothion detectors. They got map and know places where to concentrate their troops for possible fight. So, amount of troops that needed to watch over perimeter is really low, but the number of troops ready to fight with almost 2000 exausted, wounded, starving and low on ammo Azov combatants suppoused to be bigger. Lets say a 1000. Again, not that many. Russians can leave a 1500 men to control steel plant and go on in Donbass direction.
