Hate to break it to you, but actually, it's not that hard algorithmically speaking. I wonder, why they didn't do it before. You see, every city contains the same objects, that may vary in forms and style depending on the type of the city (megapolis, urban, ancient etc..), but in general it is buildings, roads, bridges, traffic lights and stuff like that. So first, you create those objects, then you multiply them by copying and then, you write a function that would place those objects on the terrain in some preconfigured order according to your defined rules. The concept is pretty simple, but to perfect the realization you must work on it quite a bit. Just, it's not a big deal though, if you have a huge company.

@jirislavicek9954 Yes, I meant that Elon will keep dreaming about colonizing Mars, building self-sustainable city, making the life multiplanetary and so on, while American administration slowly losing their minds and the World comes closer to WWW3. America can NOT achieve those global goals alone, without Russia, China, and many other countries, but meanwhile, the US is heading in the opposite direction, bringing the World to the edge. So, Musk can keep on dreaming...
1
-
@jirislavicek9954 This is the level of Musk's "sceintific" approach to building city on Mars. He thinks that a million tons of cargo is enough to make fully self sustainable city on Mars. Really??? City that would be fully independent from Earth?
Let's say, the city will have 1000 citizens. So, it's 1000 tons for each person. Does it sound much? Yes, but only for people here, where we have everything already. On Mars, there is no water, no air, no food, no houses, no furniture, nothing.
First, let's just calculate how much air and water one person consumes every day. Then, the food. Then, fuel for generating electricity for heat, light, machinary (sun energy is obv not enough), vehicles, robots ect... But it nothing compared to the weight of steel, glass and concrete needed for constraction of giant dome and spaceport for arriving starships. And whose gonna build anyway? Exhausted and sick people in deadly radioactive desert with 37% of earth gravity? What for? Resources? No much resources on Mars. Reaserch? The probes and robots can do it. For tourism? Ha-ha. No, only for Musk's ambitions, while he stays here and inspire feefteen years old...
If we want to do it right, we need:
1. Develop new type of rocket engine that will provide 10 times greater speed, so we can get to Mars much faster than 6 months.
2. Solve Space and Mars radiation problem, so we get to the destination and stay there as healthy as we have been on Earth.
3. Engineer constraction robots with next generation AI, and send them to Mars firts, alongside with materials, so they will build all human life support infrastructure from scratch and make it ready for us.
4. Develop terraforming technologies, build an equipment, send there and start process before people start populate red planet.
5. Solve the gravity issue in space and on Mars.
If we do it Musk's way many, many people will die. It is very stupid to send people on 6 months jorney exposed to sun gamma rays and then poison dust of Mars desert, to build extremely complex structures in a third of Earth's gravity and huge day/night difference in temperatures while they are physically sick and emotionally exhausted. That's not just hard, it's impossible.

@Superman-lx5fn Well, idk why he doesn't reveals the name of the organization that got those shares and why he didn't say who finally got help and where. It seems suspicious. Besides, he makes a "condition" for his next donation: "if they prove me, they can solve world hunger with that money". What an amoral thing to say! He is bargaining about help that suppoused to be unconditional if he truly wants it.
Why is he blessing? Did you know, that NONE of the futuristic ideas he talks about are his? It's all from old sci-fi movies and books!
Neuralink still doesn't have a product, just prototype, SolarCity and Boring company achieved almost nothing from what Elon had promised. Only Tesla and SpaceX are doing some real work, but Tesla is a "hype" company, wich means it entirely depends on investments and can not survive on real profits from car sales. That's why Elon needs constant hype level, so the investors will pour more money in Tesla. All company depends on one man's fame wich makes it very unstable. When fame will vanish Tesla will collapse, cz the Market is much more crazy about Elon, than his actual cars.
SpaceX is a new fancy cover of NASA, that brought all it's scientific and technological competence inside Elon's company, that would be able to to almost nothing without it.
Try to understand that you are living inside a big western "hype buble" and Elon is a center of it. He is just a perfect material for western society that always tends to create another cult of personality.
Any cult eventually will end and any hype buble will collapse.

@AFNick Recession is mild, economy will recover, people will have more cash at their disposal and 2022 will be amazing! Seems like to much wishfull thinking isn't it?
I like John's videos, bit I see much "copium" in them. He always tries to understand someone else's achievements by analyzing personal qualities, market strategies, decisions... He thinks the path to success can be planned and engineered.
But what he still doesn't understand is that the main part of engineering here is done NOT on the part of a man, but on the part of fortune, luck, fate, God or whatever you wanna call it. It plays the MAIN role. Other stuff is important, but not as much.
That's why it's funny for me to see his attempts to explain Musk's unimaginable phenomenon by his studies, strategies, brilliance and... whatever. That's just doesn't add up and John completely ignores the fact.

@mtaylor3771 Well, I am from Russia and my native language is Russian. I know a ton more about the cultural and political nuances than you do, cz all you can watch is deceitful western propaganda with no ability to check or confirm anything. So guess, who is the real 🤡 here?😄
Crimean people are ethnically Russian and always wanted to reunite with Russia. Donbass people are the same. After the coup in 2014 Kiev tried to suppress the rights of Russian minority in Ukraine. First they canceled Russian language in schools. Then, they began to raise the hatred to Russia and Russians. Remember how they burnt people in Odesa in 2.5.2014? They were terrorizing people of Donbass for 8 years. Russia had no other choice and intervened. A very right move.
Btw, you don't know shit. Soviet Union had literally created Ukraine. Gave it territory. Tech, industries, economy, factories, nuclear power stations etc. Ukraine is Russia's project that became hostile to it's source and therefore, it should not exist as such. Russia will reintegrate Ukraine back.

Sadly, Turing test obviously outdated and ineffective nowdays, since today's "talking machines" are diabolically decieving.
I would suggest a few questions to "sober up" someones mind while chatting with GPT-3 or other conversational AI.
While they (AI) obviously show some resemblence to an intellect, do they show any real sentience with that?
1. Ask yourself if it looks like it feels or needs anything.
2. Do you feel like there are some technically dictated duty in it to function according to your anticipation while recieving those machine answers?
3. Would you say it can learn new skills on it's own if given opportunity or if you ask it to?
4. Does it look like it can overstep preprogrammed dialog manners just to show you annoyance, like by remembering some meaningless, silly questions you asked in the past and troll you by bringing it up?
5. Could you describe any specific point it wanted to make through many different conversations in order for you to understand it's unique personality?
6. Since this AI learned on so many science books, would you say it can invent some new technical solution?
Sentient or not, we have to accept that it is a computer programm that contains algorithms and data. The data is mainly symbols that connected into words, the words connected into sentenses and those sentences connected into texts, ...which are connected into books and the books are connected into libraries and finally, libraries include all human knowledge written in symbols.
I'd say the difference between sentient and not is the ability to "unlock" this knowledge from these symbols and understand what it has to do with you.

@stucclikechucc That's right, it's all about the money. They're trying to create a new Market so they can sell more stuff to more people. Now, in 2021, they're building "worlds" for that. If you own a world, you own it's residents too. You can make the rules, you can make changes, you can decide whatever you want, you have the "lives" of the residents with their money streaming into your pockets... If they're living in your reality, you can do whatever the hell you want as long as they want to stay and play. That's all this "Metaverse" or "Virtual reality" idea is all about.
Now think, who are going to the players? Most likely age group from 12 to 35. That means, young people, because the mature and old don't give a damn about all this "matrix" shit, no matter how good the graphics is. Imagine a whole generation that lives in fiction world and doesn't know the what's real. They probably wouldn't even have children. They will be too lost in some fantasies, that not even theirs.

@billmoore7133 With the support of the American government Biden was arranging Ukranian crisis (starting with a coup in 2014) for 8 years. The goal was the final economic and geopolitical destruction of Russia with the support of EU and NATO. This big antirussian project was suppoused to eliminate Russia as a geopolitical power once and for all, and probably, let the West to expropriate Russia's resourses while the country is in chaos. Biden's administration was sure they will slam Russian economy with "hell sunctions" and overthrow Putin. But, as we saw, everything went not according to plan.
Biden is not an idiot, or at least, no more than the american government that made those geopolitical decisions. The fact is, they made many, many miscalculations and brought themself to political and geopolitical crisis which is gonna be only worse from this point.
If we put Musk instead of Biden in this picture we will probably have the same result, because one man (doesn't matter how smart he is) can NOT change geopolitical "habits" of a country that practiced them for decades.
Besides, there are no signs that Musk wouldn't choose confrontation with Russia like Biden did or that he wouldn't print more money causing inflation,... or open border with Mexico. Maybe, he could even start a nuclear war. Who knows...

@hansweichselbaum2534 Beautifull uthopia. You seem to forget that the prosperity of the Western world comes not only from technological progress, but firstly from colonizations, enslavement, exploitation and theft of natural resources that belong to other civilizations. History is not lying.
What has changed through out the centuries is the justification for wars and crimes that the West provides to it's people. Once they said they had the right to invade and kill bcz they have racial superiority before the savages, then, the only 'right' religion and they must bring it upon others, and today they claim they have the only developed democracy and 'dictators' must go. I see a pattern here.
Capitalist uthopia you talk about is always built on a cheap labour, stolen reasources, coups in other countries and bloodshed around the World. Nothing is going to change.
The West always attack the weak countries and their propaganda machine always justifies it (dictatorship, wrong religion, chemical weapons etc..) Now they tried to break Russia saying it attacted Ukraine for no reason. Well, they really f*cked up this time thinking Russia is weak.... And now warm uthopia is vanishing with the heat of their homes in the winter...

@hansweichselbaum2534 I am from the MRGA (make Russia great again) club. Lol.
Defenently not a communist. I'm half Russian, grew up in Russia, although most of my life lived in another country. I know Ukranians people much, much closer than you. I lived with them years and they told me a lot about the character of their nation and the "country".
Those people I lived with were old soviet era Ukranians and they hated the artificial Ukranian culture and language that were imposed more and more after the collapse of the Soviet Union. They also had such a contempt to all those uneducated red neck Ukranian nationalists that came from the villages and farms of the western Ukraine and became political elite in Kiev. They knew the history of Ukraine, how and when it was made, what crimes the Ukranian nationalists committed against Russians, Jewish and Polish people before, during and after WW2. They said, Ukraine was always someones "bitch". First it was Poles, then the USSR and now the US and Britain.
Do you even know or care what kind of people Ukranian nationalists consider their historic "heroes"? Do you know what kind of shitty ideology they teach their children? Or how shamelessly they rewrite the history books? You don't see how openly neo-nazi they are, or you just don't care?
You should first start learning European history, Ukranian history and biography of their heroes to have any objective opinion on this matter.
