Central planning takes away all regional and local needs and abilities and substitutes an average. As a friend would say, if my feet are in ice water and my head in an oven on average I'm comfortable. Accountants,like any serious professionals want to be top of their game. There are not only financial but also social rewards for being successful. However,when reaching the top of the highest mountain the only way to get higher is to create an artificial pinnacle. The chorus of tree frogs,cicada, crickets and grunts of alligators is often loud. The alligator that laid her eggs in the lot next door would swim around the area to familiarize herself with the residents each spring. Passing my boat a metre away, stopping to stare at me. The lockdowns? Well people took their boats out and drifted on the canals,barbecuing and drinking cold beer, playing music,fishing. Only in the spring and fall. The summer is too hot(heat index of 110⁰f today), the winters too cold,sometimes 22⁰f. All better than being squeezed out of the tube in the Smoke.
