@TQFMTradingStrategies I'm a 74 year old engineer, mechanic, plumber, electrician, cabinet maker and sailor. I work on boats, never advertised,or been out of work. Barring natural disasters. I'm also disabled and grumpy.

@wordysmith if you hadn't been already, try Thailand.

@Therrien-n9x some people want to continue to live in the country of their birth. Some identify as world citizens and will live anywhere. There is a big difference in attitude as can be seen when migrants cause problems in the countries they migrate to.

@fighterfred. So you're over 60 in a 1% er country, one in which the national average income puts you in the 1% of the world's income, and you're complaining that you can't get a janitorial job. O.k. I understand Sweden had a problem hiring physicists to be janitors,as it should, and hired immigrants instead. So why not retrain in HVAC,or plumbing,or electrical. Most trades are open to self employment, and competition from immigrants will be minimal.

There are a lot more off grid and black market workers than the pinnacle of capitalism would dare to admit. The success of capitalism relies on capital to succeed. It is the golden eggs laid by the goose of labor. Some dumbasses think that virtual geese can do the same thing. The real geese can only have their nests raided for so much before they give up laying. Never before in the history of human capitalism has so much been taken from so many,by so few. W. Church Hill.

@Therrien-n9x developing countries,or indeed those that will never develop, offer places where it is a relative cheapness of living. Many won't live there because the customs ,religion and language are too much of a change to learn or understand. Hence the difficulties of Muslim immigrants from Indic or Arabic nations in Scandinavia. Norway has much less of a problem with Thais, though Thai is a large percentage Indic, Buddhists and Christians share viewpoints and Thais don't try to impose themselves.

@TQFMTradingStrategies If you don't keep moving it gets difficult to move at all. This is especially true on skiis and every year I get slower and can do fewer runs. This year it was 20 miles a day. Sailing is a bit easier, but the last offshore delivery was four years ago. The last coastal was 3 weeks ago. My advice? Stay as fit as possible and don't dig your grave with your teeth. Enjoy what you do and do it well.
