  1. When I was 19 I lived in Japan with a 35 year old woman. Returning to the west the meeting with my mother was somewhat frosty,particularly as my lover looked about 25. Not a period of my life for any regrets.

  2. She,Japanese, was 35 and I was 19. When I took her home to England to meet my family my mother was appalled. My father didn't comment. That was 50 years ago.

  14. I studied music,painting,poetry and literature in Japan. This led to more acceptance by people who knew me. Homogeneity is almost unknown in the U.S. or Northern Europe. Only among Native Americans on the res,or Romany Gipsys. This should not be confused as racism. This exclusion is exists to ALL non Japanese,regardless of race,color or ethnicity. Of smell,this applies to south east Asia in general. Its best to eat foods of the country to be visited for a couple of weeks before travel and to use ethnic soaps, perfumes, deodorants on arrival.

To be fair my lady friend had been hit broadside by a cement truck in a Datsun sports car and suffered severe facial injuries. Her girlfriend was killed. She could afford the best reconstructive surgeons and they did an excellent job,so she looked younger.

  17. If you give idiots value you end up with idiots who think they are valuable. If you feed,breed,house and pay idiots you'll end up with valuable,entitled idiots. This will cause a sharp division. This has already occurred in the U.S.A. where the idiot party is on the "left" and the fascist party on the "right". There needs to be responsible government somewhere in the middle. Fighting over what's left of a society isn't a good outcome.
