Nuclear fission in a nutshell: put special rocks close to each other under water. The rocks get hot and the water boils. The hard part is making sure you don't have too many rocks too close to each other to still have enough water to keep everything submerged because otherwise the heat may get high enough to start melting stuff and the water + steam container fails. The only hard part is the scale. For a big fission reactor, the amount of special rocks you want for a single reactor will be in range 30 metric tons. And if you start to lose steam pressure, you better be able to get majority of those rocks far from each other! And we still haven't perfected this process after ~70 years and some people seem to believe that fusion power is nearly complete. In reality fusion power is insanely more complex process and we still have no idea how to make it even net positive, let alone competitive.

I think it's absolutely insane that Fukushima happened over a decade ago and Germany immediately shut down their fission power as a knee jerk reaction and they still don't have even a clue how to produce the missing energy without burning lots of fossil fuels a decade later!

You cannot outrun superhuman AI with custom jargon or weird memes. If humans (even some) can understand the jargon, superhuman AI will understand the jargon and be able to generate suitable jargon, too. The solution is same as fake news: stop trusting information sources that fail to disclose references to original source for the information. If the news site you're currently using doesn't clearly disclose the exact sources used for a given piece of news, that site is already untrustworthy. And with superhuman AI, everybody can create such news sites.

I think they should play this video instead of the 20 minute apology at the site.
