  1.  @helmandblue8720  Suicide statistics of Finland suggest that pre-emptive mental healthcare needs a lot more effort. Finland has, in theory, mental support system from elementary school forward but in reality the resources are not there. In theory, every child should have access to "koulukuraattori", the mental health specialist worker in schools. In reality, there's maybe one koulukuraattori per 500 – 2000 children in most municipalities. How good work can you do with that amount of child you're supposed to take care of? Another big problem is bullying in schools where one misbehaving children can cause a lot of grief in the school because the options that the teachers and school can take are so limited by the current system. I think the bulling child should be given a lot more mental care and typically the parents of that child would also need a lot of mental support in reality. However, the system is failing there right now. That said, the suicide rates in Belgium, United States, Latvia, Belarus and Russia are higher than in Finland. Finland has about 13.4 suicides per 100000 population and Norway (which is doing better) has 11.8, and Sweden is in between with 12.4 suicides per 100000 population. United Kingdom has 6.9 suicides per 100000 population so that part is definitely going better in the UK.
