I'm a bit over 40 and I've noticed that as I get older, I'm listening more complex music such as symphonic metal or progressive rock instead of plain old rock. And I've also noticed that bands with highly skilled singers sound more interesting to me. As a teenager I mostly listened to instrumental music – I guess I didn't like the singers of most bands but never were able to figure out why. Nowadays I'm listening, for example, Nightwish, Epica, Hans Zimmer music, Thomas Bergersen, Wintersun, Ayreon, Seal, Mustasch, The 69 Eyes and Poets of the Fall. However, I also like some more simple songs by, for example, Battle Beast, Beast in Black, Taylor Swift, Gavid Guetta, Camila Cabello, John Legend, Sia, Clean Bandit, Muse and Ariana Grande.
