2:19:15 The DeepMind AlphaZero is really mindboggling when it comes to board games. In 2017, AlphaZero was trained from scratch within 24 hours to defeat Stockfish, elmo and AlphaGo Zero. And AlphaGo Zero was already the variant that won AlphaGo 100–0 in hundred game tournament. And AlphaGo won the best human player 4–1 in 2016 (or about one year earlier!). It's like if you would be going to attend international grand master level tournaments for both Chess and Go at the afternoon and reading the rule books for both those games at the morning of the very same day. Human grand masters typically have minimum of 20 years of serious training for those games and that gets you nowhere close the level of these AI systems. Since then, in 2022 DeepMind unveiled AlphaTensor which is based on the same technology and it learned mathematics and was able to improve the best known solution to optimal 4x4 matrix multiplication algorithm – previous record was Strassen algorithm from year 1969. So in some limited cases, AI has already beaten humans in mathematics, too.
