  2. Y2K was poorly communicated to general public. If the message had been "we had to rewrite a lot of software for year 2000 compatibility and we didn't have enough time to verify all the changes, user beware" instead of "all computers are going to crash year 2000".

After writing software for living for 20+ years, when I hear enterprise in software industry, I always get the feeling that somebody is trying to sell software that pretends to be good enough for starship Enterprise. I've yet to see any enterprise software that's actually high quality in reality.
