  1. I think the correct answer is "integral over quantum-something is very nearly the standard model". However, we don't yet know what kind of integral that would be and it might be too hard mathematically to compute that integral using our current mathematics. Even if we find the correct model, it might be so hard to use in practice that we would be using standard model for nearly everything, similar to how Newton's formulas were used when man went to the Moon and back: it was already known that General Relativity would have been more accurate but the math required would have been insanely hard and Newton's formulas were accurate enough already.
