Some things are just hard enough to take a lifetime... Donald Knuth has been writing a book about computer programming called "The Art of Computer Programming" since year 1968 and it isn't yet ready either. The first 3904 pages have already been published but the book is still unfinished and it remains to be seen if he'll ever finish the book because he is already 85 years old. The "Volume 4B: Combinatorial Algorithms, Part 2" consisting of 714 pages was published in 2023 so he's still actively working on it. He also has pre-print versions (called "pre-fascicle") of volumes 5A, 5B, 5C, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9B, 12A and 14A publicly available, but he doesn't yet consider those final, if I've understood correctly.

@2012mpe Nokia is separate corporation from HMD Global. The only thing that HMD Global had is a lease on the trademark when it comes to smartphones. Nokia didn't design HMD Global devices nor is there any software made by Nokia in those devices. It's all HMD Global with a Nokia brand on top.

Where can I download a high quality TTS library for the voice of Hannah Fry? Her voice is a great combination of clear pronunciation combined with a pleasing sounds. Some TTS libraries have clear pronunciation but sound tiring to listen.

6:40 If we were to believe that AI needs to have body to "truly understand" physics, just throw the AI into virtual environment with accurate enough physics simulation. This would accomplish two things: faster than real life experiments because you could simply run the timescale of the virtual environment faster than realtime and let the AI learn faster from the effects of its actions, and ability to iterate new designs faster. Let the AI to design new mechanical machines which it can then experiment with in the virtual environment and it can get results faster than with actual physical stuff. And to make AI input similar to ours, you have to render that virtual environment with stereoscopic view and just given the resulting rendered view as the input for the AI. Then it would learn to work with real world stuff while experimenting in the virtual enviroment. And some companies are already doing this. And Nvidia will be providing both the hardware to render the virtual environment into stereoscopic view and the hardware to run the AI logic itself. The only big question is who is going to pay for all the hardware and electricity? If training/developing an AGI would cost 100 billion dollars, how much you have to charge for its use to ever make it profitable? Are they enough potential customers on Earth?

@tomsriver2838 Nokia "upgraded" their logo in 2023. It's still the same company but it's getting closer to being just a patent troll every day.

@devilsolution9781 Nokia bought Bell Labs a couple of years ago and then changed their PR material to declare that Nokia invented all the stuff that Bell Labs originally invented.
