  1. Did the cars around you have cameras recording by any change? If the steering column failed during the corner, the resulting left front wheel movement might have caught on camera and would definitely explain why the car went nearly straight (and probably also explain ABS action).

  2. Yes, if it's your own car, definitely go with glue. However, this is not Misha's car so it will be fixed up to factory spec which means no glue.
