@keidicko I think oil lowering the octane rating is not an issue here because the engine was burning oil during braking only (that is, definitely not burning lots of gasoline at the same time). The biggest risk was lowering oil level so much that oil pump could catch air during high-g corners + causing oil mist on the track. This car would deserve an oil cooler and modified PCV system to avoid the smoke in the first place.

I did notice it and I think the system was probably running with too little water because the temps got lower so fast. If you have system full of water, the total energy in the water prevents that quick cooling but if your system is not pressurized, boiling water into steam could explain rapid temperature drop to 100 °C.

VAG cars can activate mechanical steering lock only if you remove the key from the lock. Just turning it to off and on cannot activate steering lock.

Does this car have some special AC setup if turning on AC increases oil temperature?

@Trophy_R AC should cause about 5 kW worth of extra load at max so it shouldn't cause temperatures to raise meaningfully unless something has been poorly designed. Is the oil cooler positioned next to hot AC parts?

@Trophy_R I believe you. I'm just wondering why that happens because AC shouldn't cause such effects if designed well. Of course, road cars are not designed for tracking so maybe they just put AC parts and oil cooling parts next to each other because it was easier/cheaper to manufacture.

This car needs oil cooler and something to avoid slushing oil into the turbo + scan for error codes to figure out why it switched to limp mode during the lap. I'd guess overheating but definitely check the ECU data.
