  1. I think that nowadays the most cost effective method to try to get paid driver contract is to start with sim racing. However, about a couple of million other sim drivers have the same idea so unless your skills are about 1 in million, that may result in some of the other sim racers getting the seat. Even a good sim hardware costs about two set of proper real world tires (~3000 EUR).
