In the covid statistics a case means a single human with positive test result for COVID-19 using some of the approved tests. Nothing more, nothing less.

Those covid cases were reported per week. So that's 0.91 new hospitalised covid cases per 100,000 people per week vs 3.5 homicides per 100,000 people per year. 0.91 cases per week would be about 47 new covid cases per 100,000 per year for vaccinated people. And for non-vaccinated it was 9.9 per week or 516 cases per year. As you see, the numbers clearly show that anti-vaxxers are a big problem even though vaccination cannot prevent all cases either. It's all about probabilities. To improve your changes, you should avoid being overweight, use mask and be vaccinated. That doesn't guarantee that you cannot get the worst covid effects but it improves your changes for survival. The problem is that most people are really really bad at math and fail to understand all probabilities other than exactly 0%, 50% or 100%.
