If you can keep pointing out the dirty tricks in the system long enough, you'll eventually win. I don't see any shortcuts which don't including doing dirty tricks, so you should continue doing the thing you're currently doing.

19:15 Around this time, I would have read the part of the draft that says that "'Tool' includes software or other mechanism [...] required to bring the product back to fully functional condition" and then ask how this wording would fail to provide the software he was asking? The only issue I can potentially see is that "fully functional condition" might allow having the product in factory sold state but before software activation. It might have been better to say something like "fully functional condition available for all of its marketed purposes". I think that would cover re-registering the repaired items to online service if that's needed to use it for its marketed purpose. (Example case: Tesla blocking supercharging if car is repaired by 3rd party service provider. In this case, it wouldn't be enough to have all the software to make the car's computers happy locally because you have to make the car connect to global network, too.) I agree that this seems like bullshit argument and the real agenda is hidden but it seems to match with the interest of John Deere.

23:30 I'm looking forward for the future where lobbyists are afraid to speak to Louis because they're afraid that Louis is going to publish the truth. Just record every phone call and all the discussions if that's allowed in your local legislation to be able to publish the actual facts. It would be fun if some lobbyist tries to argue that it's not their voice in the discussion when they get caught. I live in Finland and here it would be 100% legal to record every phone call you make and record every discussion you take apart without disclosing the information about recording the discussion to the opposing party. The legislation is very clear here in Finland: if you're member of the discussion, you're allowed to secretly record it. However, that doesn't cover video or photos here, so that would be have to be audio only.
