  1. I'd actually be okay with rental model for software and phones if the pricing were sensible. However, I don't accept the idea that you pay full price and then keep paying rent. It would be the same as paying full price for your house and still paying rent to somebody! Instead, you normally pay maybe 1/200th of the full value of the house per month for rent. With similar logic, renting iPhone should cost about $7 per month.
